Minimum height requirement
When a balustrade protects an area with a significant fall risk, the protective height must be measured from the finished floor up to the top edge of the glass (or the top of the handrail, if applicable). A typical minimum height is 1 metre for most standard installations.
For higher fall heights (for example above 1.80 metres), the protective height is commonly increased to 1.10 metres in order to reduce any climbing or tipping risk.
Important: do not confuse glass height with fall height. Compliance is always based on the effective protection height from the finished floor.

Typical panel sizes
Panels are sized to ensure a clean look and structural stability. Typical panel widths are around 90 to 110 cm, depending on the layout and fixing method.
For installation comfort and a consistent finish, we typically plan an average spacing of about 10 mm between each glass panel.

Maximum allowable openings
The maximum gap between panels must not exceed 11 cm, to prevent the passage of objects and improve child safety. For all-glass balustrades, protection should remain continuous without dangerous openings in the lower protection zone.
